Working Principle

The Mumby Charriot Seeders have been developed from a well proven seeding method using the Cambridge roller system – where a front notched cast ring roller prepares the surface by breaking up the clods – levelling and pressing down the soil – leaving small indentations and ridges in the earth – ready to accept the seeds spread across the full width of the hopper (not in lines) the seeding rates can be accurately calculated from 5-40gms per sq. metre – A stainless steel seed metering shutter system is used for long life with a calibration tray – a rear notched cast ring roller presses down and splits the small ridges – raking and covering the seeds leaving a perfect seedbed with small ridges that hold the moisture and protect the seeds from excessive wind and rain.  The Mumby Charriot eliminates the need for a tractor mounted seeder where manoeuvrability and a quality finish are required without the problem of tractor tyre marks left in the surface.
